The Cub Cadet X Series is great for any Midwesterner, as they understand the unpredictability and intensity of that cold winter weather. Minnesota is no exception, with heavy snowfall starting as early as October.

Choosing the right model for your space can be challenging, but there are clear tasks each of these models are designed to complete with ease. Find what model makes the most sense for you, and tackle that tough snow!

Cub Cadet 1X Series

Conditions

The 1X is the smallest and most compact of the series, ideal for lighter snow conditions or small areas. It’s engineered for roughly six inches of snow and short driveways up to eight car lengths. It can clear widths of 24-28 inches, which is ideal for driveways and sidewalks. This series is easiest to maneuver around tight corners and small spaces.

Mechanics

The 1X Series offers the lowest horsepower, ideal for smaller areas and lighter loads. The single-stage operation includes an auger that both gathers and discharges snow. This setup is great for light, fluffy snow that is less compact. The 1X Series is lighter and easier to physically maneuver, which is great for those looking for a machine that is less strenuous to move. This makes plowing the driveway or walkway quick and easy for residential and commercial users. Best part? It is the most affordable option and a great entry point into the Cub Cadet X Series snow blowers.

Cub Cadet 2X Series

Conditions

The 2X is moderately sized compared to others in the series, great for large driveways, small commercial spaces, or moderately sized areas. It’s designed to tackle 12-18 inches of snow, which can increase up to 23 inches with EFI and MAX models. This is perfect for driveways, roughly 15 car lengths long, or spaces similar in size. The clearing width of the 2X Series increases slightly from the 1X Series, clearing from 24-30 inches of a variety of snow types.

Mechanics

The 2X Series offers a higher horsepower, which is better suited for that tougher, dense snow. This machine offers a two-stage operation, equipped with an auger and impeller. The auger turns the snow, while the impeller throws it. This system helps move tougher snow and clear larger areas. This series offers a great balance of capacity and maneuverability, perfect for a wide variety of users from commercial to residential.

Cub Cadet 3X Series

Conditions

The 3X is the largest in this series, best for tough snow and large spaces. It’s most used by commercial customers but is great for heavy snow loads and large areas to plow. Optimized to tackle 23+ inches of a variety of snow types. This series is built to tackle smooth or gravel surfaces, including driveways of 15+ car lengths. With a large clearing capacity of 26-30+ inches, the 3X Series can clear up to 50% faster than the previous, 2X Series models.

Mechanics

The 3X Series offers the highest horsepower, making long hours easy to endure. This series is designed with a three-stage operation, which includes two augers and one impeller. The dual auger system digs up heavy and dense snow, giving you confidence that it can tackle any winter storm.

Additional Customization

IntelliPower Models

These models provide up to 13-17% more available engine power and provide an optimized engine performance, more consistent for Minnesota’s unpredictable weather. It helps reduce being bogged down by that heavy and dense snow as it prevents stalling when hitting that heavy snow.

Heavy Duty (HD) Models

HD models provide increased durability for rugged terrains, as they offer larger engines to support heavy amounts of snow. They are great for assisting with rugged and uneven terrain, and capable of maintaining a large area. They are well-suited for commercial users and are often preferred by landscaping companies, municipalities, and property management.

MAX Models

MAX models know how to handle severe weather. They are larger in width and engine capacity, which makes them well-designed for extreme winter conditions and heavier snow intake. They are great for small commercial sites or large residential areas.

Electronic Fuel Injections (EFI) Models

The electronic fuel injection system allows for better fuel performance and uses the optimal amount when necessary. Great for those with large areas and frequent use, to reduce fuel costs and maintenance costs. This model is great for those wishing to lower operational costs.

Trac (Track-Drive) Models

The Trac models replaced the traditional wheel system with tracks to power through rougher terrains, uneven paths, and tight spaces. This makes it easier to maneuver over tough territory. They are a fantastic option for both residential and commercial use.
